Feast Report - Sri Lanka (updated 11/08/11)
Twenty-five brethren joyfully kept the Feast of Tabernacles in Sri Lanka on the beautiful coastline of Mahawaskaduwa, Kalutara, Sri Lanka.
The Feast was held at the Mermaid Hotel where all the brethren stayed, worshiped and ate our meals together. The oneness was encouraging.
The feast began with a welcome message from Dave Schreiber and a DVD opening sermon from Mr. Melvin Rhodes who was unable to come to the Feast in Sri Lanka.
A special event was the baptism of three ladies who eagerly wanted to follow God and turn their lives over to Him. In a world of so many Buddhists and Hindu’s – this is a major commitment to know ONE God and they are so thankful to have come to know Him and His awesome plan for all mankind.
The Sri Lanka brethren are very musically talented and shared their gifts with all at the Variety Show. This was very enjoyable. Two men – one from Singapore and one from Canada, contributed to the feast by sharing their many years of experience in the church and also their talents of poetry, singing and dance with all their Sri Lankan brothers and sisters. The evening was completed with a family dance.
Dave and Jolinda Schreiber enjoyed spending the first half of the Feast with the Sri Lankan brethren before departing for India. The second half of the Feast, the Sri Lankan brethren learned from pre-recorded messages about the coming Kingdom of God sent to them from Mr. Ken Murray of Australia and Mr. Melvin Rhodes.
The brethren also took a daytrip -- with an early service in the morning and a boat trip.
If you want to travel internationally, the warm and very loving Sri Lanka brethren will welcome you to worship with them next year at the Feast of Tabernacles! Please contact David Schreiber by e-mail at
if you would like to know more about the Feast of Tabernacles in 2012. |
